Nepal:dozens of elephants deployed for flood rescue
Dozens of elephants and rafts have been deployed to rescue over 500 people trapped by floods, and forced out thousands of residents out of their houses. According to Red Cross 100, 000 people have been affected. Several hotels also affected in Sauraha, Chitwan district trapping tourists.
Landslides and floods caused by torrential monsoon rains have killed 25 people and 50 missing in the past two days across Nepal according officials. Floods engulged densely populated lowlands and landside hit remote districts in the hilluy areas of the far east. Telephone and electricity line also been damaged as well as roads across the southern plains have been blocked by rains an three highway bridges collapsed in the western Banke district according to Home Minister Janardan Sharma.
