27 Years after Hillsborough Incident, Enquiries Continue
The 96 innocent victims of the Hillsborough tragedy were remembered today, 27 years on whilst enquiries continue. In Liverpool Lime Street area tributes were made, and there was music, speeches and moments of reflection. Victims’ families at the press conference on Tuesday attached a notice to the door – “NO ENTRY TO SUN JOURNALISTS” as the paper had treated the issue with derision and libel.
A call for David Crompton – the South Yorkshire Chief Constable to resign was made. In the ongoing investigation, jurors found the fans were “unlawfully killed”. 13 retiring or serving officers face questioning, the IPCC revealed (Independent Police Complaints Commission).
