Notting Hill Carnival vivid spectacle

The annual Notting Hill Carnival, one of Europe’s largest street parties, displaying a vivid spectacle representing London’s multicultural past and present, with hundreds and thousands attending each year. Notting Hill Carnival event held since 1964, as a way for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate cultures and traditions, featuring live music ranging from reggae to dub to Salsa, parade of soca floats, steel bands and Chicken and fired plantain. Spread throughout W10 in West London, the Carnival celebrations took over areas of Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park.

On Sunday’s traditional Children’s Day Parade through the streets of West London as part of the event’s family day.

Police said they seized 26 knives and arrested 156 people after four stabbing incidents, and drug and knives possession charges. A 15-year-old was stabbed in Wornington Road, 14-year-old was arrested for GBH and three other males 15 to 20 were also wounded in knife attacks.
