Happy Halloween
Allhalloween, All Hallows’ Eve or All Saints’ Eve, is indeed a spooky evening celebrate every year in several countries on October 31 – the eve of Christian feast of all Hallows’ Day. Celtic Pagan festival of Samhain, meaning “Summer’s End” which is celebrated the end of the harvest season.
The trick or treat origins emerged in the 16th century in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales where people dressed up in masks and spooky costumes and went door-to-door asking for food in exchange for a poem or song. Many dressed up as souls of the dead protecting themselves from the spirits by impersonating them. Trick or treat was first used in America in 1927, by immigrants disguising gave way to threatening pranks in exchange for sweets. By 1920s Pumpkin carving was pervasive in America.
