Bronze statue sold for £1.8m
A 13 inch 17-century bronze ostrich sculpture has been sold for £1.8m produced by Renaissance sculptor Glambologna owned by 17-th century politician and writer Horaxe Walpole . It was sold to John Dunn-Gardner ,The self-styled Earl of Leicester, in 1842 f9or £50 and eight shilling equal to £3, 000 today, and it has stayed in his family until the sale ofto a UK-baswd collector .
Martin Millard of Cheffins, said the price which set a record for the auction house was fantastic result.
