Lambeth Council bans laughing gas
Lambeth Council in London has become the first council in UK to ban nitrous oxide commonly known as laughing gas due to its misuse as a “legal high” and recreational drug. Nirtous Oxide is chemical compound with a formula.Anybody caught with possession of the laughing gas will be fined unto £1000. N2O an oxide of Nitrogen. At room temperature it is a colourless, non-flammable gas with sweet odour and taste and used for dentistry and surgery for its anesthetic and analgesic effects. It is also used as a oxidizer in the launching of rockets and in Motor racing to increase power of output of engines. The gas is approved as a food additive known as E942 as an aerosol propellant in whipped cream. The negative effect laughing gas abuse can cause serious loss of motor functions, disassociation of mind and body, dizziness, unconsciousness, loss of inhibitions. It can make the human body pass out by cutting out blood circulation to the brain and not only kills brain cells but create numbness.
