Subran’s house was totally destroyed by the flood was evacuated to a nearby camp, was promised £100 but only got £48 till now.

Even after a month has gone by since floods, sitters of 950 shops in Ranni market road are still shut, and their loss amounts to £7.4m, and the traders and shopkeepers  have decided to approach the court  to sue KSEB seeking compensation for the loss saying “the KSEB and the authorities have failed to  give a proper alert . Ranni had never witnessed a deluge of this magnitude with water rising to over 22 feet. Although the government promised to direct the banks to offer an interest-free loan of £10, 580 to traders, no bank has taken that initiative. 

Although donations have given the funds have not yet fully reached the victims. The rehabilitation of local communities who lost their homes is yet to happen. There are 94 dams in the 14 districts of the Kerala state. the Kochi Nedumbassery airport was closed for two weeks after flooding incurred losses of £26.25m. Lulu Mall, India’s largest mall was shut as the basements were flooded.
