Andy Murray in second-round thriller beat German qualifier Oscar Otte  under Wimbledon Centre Court lights.

The 34-year-old Scot led by a set and a break but 151st ranked Otte won the third set for 2-1 lead before darkness forced the pair off court. But with 7,500 crowd behind him, Murray fought back to win 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 amid singing and chanting fans.

A sloppy service inspired the German instantly to gain more aggression and confidence,  and break for 4-3 with the help of three wonderful points.  Otte went on to serve out the set. Murray became more subdued and virtual silence other than Otte’s roar of celebration.

Cheering fans inspired Murray to land winners and reach the balls which could not in the middle part of the  match.

“I had to do something different. I started going for my shots more, started dictating more of the points. I enjoyed the end of the match. The middle part not so much” Murray said who has had a series of niggling injuries since having career-saving hip resurfacing surgery.
