Apple’s smart watch will range in price from $349 to $17,000 (£299 to £13,500 in the UK) depending on if it is
18-carat gold yellow or 18-carat gold rose and the straps they are bought with.Apple said it will sell three versions
of the Apple Watch, including a sports model and an 18 carat gold model called the “Apple Watch Edition.
” The Apple Watch also comes in two sizes, one slightly smaller than the other. Apple watch requires I-phone.
The larger 42mm (1.7in) models of the Watch will cost about $50 more than the 38mm (1.5in) versions in the lower-priced ranges.
Apple also revealed that the devices are due to go on sale on 24 April.
The strategy was signalled initially with the hiring of Angela Ahrendts from Burberry a year ago to transform Apple’s retail business.
Led by Apple design chief Sir Jonathan Ive, the 48-year-old British designer, Apple is concentrating on design and style appeal.
The Apple smartwatch comes in six metal options for the watch. There will be six band designs, two face sizes and 11 face designs.
Ive hired industrial designer Marc Newson to work on the Apple Watch. An intimate of the fashion industry – his wife is Fendi
and Victoria’s Secret stylist Charlotte Stockdale – Newson choreographed the initial unveiling of the product for fashion designers
and editors during Paris fashion week last September.
“Apple’s pricing demonstrates the confidence it has in the new Apple Watch’s functionality, design and consumer appeal,” commented Ian.
Analysts forecasts sales of the Apple Watch could net up to $15m in the first year, and if the technology takes off Apple could make its first $ Trillion company.
