There is a conspiracy, according to the users of old iPhones they are convinced that Apple was deliberately slowing down old iPhones to force customers to upgrade to new models.

In Cupertino based Apple’s website, their latest blog the group acknowledged that aging batteries and a software update designed to prevent sudden, unexpected shutdowns had combined to produce slower performance, predominantly in older models.

Apple felt the urge to confess to Father Christmas all their sins during the festive period.

Apple, in fact, apologised saying there had been a “misunderstanding”. It took two steps and thought it would help solve problems. First, the company plans to drop the price of replacement batteries for the iPhone 6 and later models from £70 to £29. This will improve the performance and also promised to allow users to check whether an aging battery is affecting performance. Apple, however, denied that the slowdowns were part of a larger plot to drive sales of its new iPhone X, which retails at over £1000.

“We have never- and would never do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades. Our goal has always been to create products that our customers love, and making iPhones last as long as possible is an important part of that. ”

Analysists reports suggested that demand for the iPhone X would fall short of expectations in the first quarter. Apple’s solutions are less than satisfactory for many of its customers who users can’t afford an upgrade to new iPhone. Apple would learn from their disastrous strategy that even the Korean manufacturers are wooing customers with more durable devices.  Customers were attracted to Apple’s iOS ecosystem apps, movies and music and iPhone’s pristine design and its emphasis on privacy and should not alienate their customers who might be persuaded to jump to a rival product. Apple should remember they have grown to be the world’s most valuable company by giving its customers good reasons to stay loyal.  You just have to look Samsung catastrophic episode of a few faulty batteries and they were force to recall launch of their new phone.
