World Cup Cricket Final Australia V New Zealand played at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

New Zealand 183 all out Grant Elliot 83, Ross Taylor 40, Mitchell Starc 20-2, Mitchell Johnson 30-3, John Faulkner 36-3, Australia 186 for 3 in 33.1 over Michael Clark 74 from 72, Steve Smith 56 not out from 71, Matt Henry 46 -2, Trent Boult 40-1.

Australia played a outstanding perfect game and won the World Cup Cricket for the fifth tim, outclassed New Zealand in all departments, watched by 93,013, at Melbourne Cricket Ground and beat New Zealand by 7 wickets.. Australia won previously in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007. Michael Clark retires from ODI with the World Cup Trophy win.

Runners up New Zealand although played consistent game throughout the tournament was off colour today. New Zealand lost their captain Brendon McCullum for duck to the fifth ball as New Zealand collapsed to 183 all out with Grant Elliot 83 resisting. New Zealand were 39-3 as Elliot and Ross Taylor 40, regrouped,  when Faulkner stuck and took 3 wickets with a middle order collapse including the wickets of Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson for duck and Grant Elliot. Starc knocked out Luke Ronchi for duck. Australia dismissed five New Zealand batsmen for duck. Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson and James Faulkner all shared 8 wickets.

Australia in reply, although lost early wicket of Aaron Finch 0, Warner 45 from 46 balls,Michael Clark 74 from 72 and Steve Smith 56 not out, romped home without any pressure.
