Rescuers scrambled to the scene after a baby elephant was hit by a motorbike on a road in Thailand.

Thailand’s paramedic Mana Srivate who had performed dozens of resuscitations administered Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to which a small elephant responded by recovering fully by standing on its feet. Mana was called into action while off duty on a road trip late on Sunday.  Mana is seen giving two-handed compressions to the small elephant lying on its side as colleagues treated an injured motorcyclist n the floor a few meters away, in the eastern province of Chanthaburi. He was left at the scene of the accident after treatment and was reunited with his mother and the rest of the herd.

“When the baby elephant starting to move, I almost cried”, said Mana.

The elephant stood for 10 minutes and was taken to another location for treatment before being returned to the scene of the accident in hope of reuniting with the rest of the herd.
