Baby products with formaldehyde
Johnson and Johnson confirmed they will remove hidden formaldehyde specially quaternium-15, from their baby products like baby shampoo and baby washes. Formaldehyde released from quaternium-15 is hidden ingredient like “DMDM hydantoin”, and “1, 4 dioxane” which is hidden in the listed ingredients like fragrance.
They have been under constant pressure from public and groups like EWG. According to Susan Nettesheim, vice president for product stewardship and toxicology for J & J who said: “ There’s a very lively public discussion going on about the safety of ingredients in personal care products since 2011.”
If someone was selling you a shampoo for your baby that had cancer causing agents hidden in it, one takes drastic action to eradicate it. As listed on the US EPA carcinogen list chemicals like phthalates and parabens which have estrogen-like properties are suspected to be linked to hormone-related cancers They plan to phase these chemicals out in their adult brands Johnson & Johnson also operates under clean names like Aveeno, Neutrogena and clean and clear.
