The husband and wife team, Clive Humby and Edwina Dunn the couple who founded dunnhumby in their back bedroom in 1989, who created Tesco’s Clubcard, My Kroger Plus and other loyalty programmes around the world. They made millions from progressively selling the business to Tesco and by the time they retired in 2011, it had grown to an organisation of 1500 people, reaching 350m customers in 25 countries.

They are now prepared to work with any private equity company to win back control of dunnhumby. Their loyalty programme transformed Tesco fortunes providing essential in-depth knowledge about its customers.

Meanwhile Tesco, who is expected update their current trading in their annual meeting on 26th June 2015, revealed back in September that it had overstated its forecast of full-year pre-tax profit by £250m.
