Birthday party turns violent

Police in Riot gear and police helicopter was drafted in after officers were attacked by hundreds of masked party goers at a 14 year birthday party at a block of flats at in Stoke Newington, East London Borough of Hackney, which got out of control.

Police had their cars blocked as around 400 people threw bottles, bricks and even an ironboard on officers who were attempting to shut down the party following several complains from nearby residents about noise.

What started as innocent 14 year old birthday party expecting about 100 guests, turned into 400 guests and the noise they created  triggered complaints from neighbours,

According to Scotland Yard spokesman “the officers came under a sustained attack” with bottles and bricks down from the balconies after they arrived at the scene just before midnight on Saturday 8 Aug 2015.

According to Detective Chief Inspector Cath Edginton from Hackney Borough “It is fortunate that none of my officers were injured.”

Police have appealed for witnesses but no arrests were made.
