Emma Raducanu, eighteen-year-old British wildcard stunned former French Open finalist Marketa Vondousova in straight sets to reach the Wimbledon third round.
Raducanu, ranked 338th in the world, who only finished her A-Levels couple of months ago, won 6-2, 6-4. She faces Sorana Cirstea after the Romanian defeated Victoria Azarenka.
Raducani said: “ Just to be able to be at the championships, I feel like I’m on a holiday. It’s unbelievable, I just want to stay here for as long as I can”. She will earn £ 115, 000 just for reaching rhe third round.
