After a parade in Manchester yesterday including performances by The Kaiser Chiefs and other singers, and dancing with a carnival  atmosphere, including a distribution of gold hats for the crowds,  the medal winners from Rio 2016 Olympics came to London today to assemble in Trafalgar Square and later to go on to Buckingham Palace. Mayor Sadiq Khan congratulated them all and mentioned the next Olympics which will be in Tokyo in 2020.  Kadeena Cox was interviewed – she is a paryalympic athlete sprinter cyclist who won four golds.  The crowds came out in force on a sunny October day to congratulate and share in the glory of outstanding performances in Rio.

In Manchester Olympiad from Sheffield Jessica Ennis Hill joined in the parade though she has now resigned from Olympic activities and is a young mother.  Special announcements and interviews covered the behind the scenes crew of people who train all the medallists to hone their sport to the finest perfection.
