Cirque du Soleil at The Royal Albert Hall ’til March 6

Cirque

Rather than live on the edge James Bond Style or through illegal toxic substances some brave adventurous and talented people choose to ‘cheat’ death or injury to give us one of the best shows that has ever toured the world – namely Cirque du Soleil –  a Canadian company. ‘Amaluna’ marks their 20th year and is currently at The Royal Albert Hall’s architecturally breathtaking venue where the audience can gasp and coo at awesome stunts when with  the lighting, costumes and make up plus props you are brought into an enchanting magical evening of truly memorable entertainment.

As for the stars – where shall I start?  A bit of padding is the clown couple Mainha & Papulya who pull some stunts both on stage and in the aisles cheering us along as they act out their comic romance in between the sequence of other performances.

From a ball juggler who catches balls dropped from above his head in the huge dome area and delivers eye-popping stunts to the guy who slides and climbs up and down a thin pole at amazing speeds to the lady who knits together a huge fragile structure using her feet and holding it steady til the final denouement to the Chinese acrobatics and the mesmerising lady swinging in the air on a hoop, not to forget the guys who bounce around on a seesaw projecting themselves to dizzy heights,  you will be enchanted and surprised, expectant, nervous or thrilled and definitely amazed and charmed.

Personally, this is the third time I have seen Cirque du Soleil and I met several people who had seen the stunts before at other venues of the company including Las Vegas and Florida.  Count up your pennies and gird up your loins The Cirque du Soleil must not be missed.

Enjoy!
