Drone grounds flights at Dubai Airport
Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest, was forced to ground all it flights for half an hour just after 8:00 local time (04:00 GMT) on Wednesday 28th September, 2016, due to the drone flying in the area according to Airport authorities. However, arrivals resumed at 8L35 with full operations restored by 09:07.
On Twitter Dubai Airport posted “We remind all drone operators that activities are not permitted within 3.11miles (5km) of any airport or landing areas.
Back in June 12, another incident saw Dubai International Airport close for 69 minutes.
IN UAE all Drone owners must already register with the UAE Civil Aviation Authority. They also have announced plans to tighten the rules on buying and using drones.
