England’s dominant bowlers skittled defending champions West Indies for 55 runs in 14.2 overs, as they made a sterling start to their Men’s T20 World Cup campaign with a six-wicket victory win in Dubai.

Adil Rashid who was unplayable took 4-2 while Moeen Ali and Tymal Mills both claimed 2-17

Chris Gayle was the only West Indies Batsmen to reach double figures, as West Indies were bowled out for their second-lowest total against England in T20s.

In reply Jos Buttler ended up 24 not out as the chase was completed with a massive 11.4 overs to spare.

England is bidding to become the first team to hold the 50-over and 20-over World Cup titles. They face Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and Australia in Dubai next Saturday.

 

Australia beat South Africa by five wickets in Abu Dhabi by successfully chasing down 119.

South Africa 118-9, 20ov, Markram 40 off 36, 3 fours, 1 six, Rabada 19* off 23, 1 four, 1 six, Miller 16 off 18, Hazlewood 2-19, Zampa 2-21, Starc 2-32.

Australia 121-5 off 19.4ov, Smith 35 off 34, 3 fours, Stoinis 24 off 16, 3 fours, Wade 15 off 10, 2 fours, Nortje 2-21, Rabada 1-28, Maharaj 1-23, Shamsi 1-22.

 Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade ensure Australian win by five wickets with two balls to spare, by adding an unbroken 40 runs. Steve Smith made 35 runs from 34 balls after Australia had a mini collapse as they slipped to 38-3.

Earlier South Africa  managed to score 118-9 with Aden Markram hitting a fluent 40 and Josh Hazelwood, 

Mitchell Starc, and Adam Zampa all taking two wickets a piece.
