Hatton Garden Hole in the Wall Heist creates new drama idea

Last Easter a gang stole £14 million worth of gems in Hatton Garden by making a hole in the vault.  Now the vault is playing host to a different kind of drama. Extras star Ashley Jensen and Downton Abbey’s Daisy Lewis and other former members of the National Youth Theatre, crowded into the 10ft by 20ft room, sitting on chairs to read through Blue Moon Over Poplar by Rebecca Lenklewicz.  The artistic director and cheif executive said “It’s a real treat to launch our 60th year in the diamond heist vault because we want to embrace a bit of wit and cheekiness alongside all the important work we do”. The readings were described as “hidden gem boom boom readings” by David Pearl – a great supporter of the organisation.
