In search of water

Bodwampatty forest in Palakkad Southern India herds of thirsty elephants are straying into residential areas in the Western Ghats in search of water.

As the forests have dried up, the elephants here mainly depend on the Walayar reservoir for water have dried up and now the forest department is planning to fill up small ponds in the forest area by digging bore wells.
