England won the toss and put India into bat.

Sam Curran’s 95 not out off 83 which helped England post a challenging 329 went in vain as India successfully defended 329 in the third and final ODI to clinch the series 2-1, a sixth straight series win, and India has won seven of their 10 ODI against England at home.

Virat Kohli’s India completed England sweep by winning the Test series 3-1, T20I series 3-2, and ODI 2-1.

Earlier India made excellent start with  Dhawan bringing up another half-century  India 100/1,  Then Rashid beats Rohit Sharma 38 with a googly that fizzes through an open gate to knock back middle and off India 103/1. Rashid also get c &b Dhawan for 67. Moeen gets Kohli who attempted a rotten shot through extra-cover as the ball turned in scooted under his edge and knocked by leg stump. India 121/3. Liam Livingstone  bags a wicket with his second ball in ODIs a full toss which Rahul spatulas round the corner to short fine leg India 157/4. Rashid who varies his pace and flight until the fifth ball which is tossed up and Pant thrashes it on one knee over deep midwicket for six. Pant get his 50.

Curran  changed direction as Pant trying to whip it through square leg  but took the bottom outside edge of the toe and Buttler took a sensational one-handed low catch to his left. India 256/5  Pant out for 78. Stokes bowlsd round Hardik’s legs as he loses his balance trying to tickle it fine and walked across his stumps India 276/6.

Wood throws his hand at a big whoosh at one on an off-stump line and nicked off to Buttler. India 321/7l. Wood then gets Krunal Pandya  who slices his deive having been forced to reach too far to keep his bottom-hand grip on the handle and Roy takes a  running catch turning backwards at point to grab it one-handed on his knees. India 328/8.

Wood bowls two yorkers to the No 10 followed by a third in succession at 90mph to knock Parsidh#s middle stump/ India 329/9. Topley gets Kumar who groped for length and tried to slog a ball that wasn’t in the slot. Curran run in from mid-off and takes a simple catch India all out for 329. England bowled well on a belter pitch using pace off, top speed , astute spin until Pant and Haridk had other ideas.

In reply after five ball onslaught Roy falls to the last which sneaks through the ate. England 14/1.

Kumar get Bairstow lbw England 28/2.

Natarajan bowls a waist high full toss which Stokes takes couple of paces down then pitch  and he whacks it straight to deep square leg where Dhawan makes no mistake.  England 68/3. Jos Buttler’s head falls over the ball and is off balance as he plays  a Thakur ball across the line, trapped in the crease England 95/4.

A full toss from Thakur which Liam Livingstone steps forward and patted it back to the bowler England 155/5.

Malan who get his 50 but pulls a short Thakur ball straight to Rohit Sharma at short mid-wicket England 168/6.

Kohli brings back Kumar which Moeen pulls him for one bounce four, but two balls later Moeen tries to hit him down the ground and doesn’t catch it and Hardik takes a good low diving catch at mid-off England 200/7.

Thakur gets his fourth wicket as Rashid chips one and Kohli takes a great one-handed catch at short extra cover. England 257/8.

Half century for Curran – his first ODI’s for England off 45 balls. England needs 61 off 48 balls.

 

Thakur is back on the 16th bowling change by Kohli in the past 19 overs as England still needs 48 off 30.

In the 47th over Curran gets his six runs off  Thakur’s first two deliveries dropped on 22 by Hardik, can the left-hander lead England to victory. Kumar traps Wood lbw but survives on review as England need 19 off 12.

Hardik bowls the penultimate over  as Thakur drops Wood one of the easiest catches  as India appears to be falling apart under pressure. Next ball Natarajan drops Wood. England needs 14 from the last over.

First ball of the last over and Wood just fails to make it having tried to get Curran back on strike, a great throw form Hardik  runs Wood out. England 317/9.

Topley gets a vital single to get Curran to strike. Curran refuses the single and there are three balls to go.

Full toss from Natarajan and Curran cannot capitalise and again refuses the single and he has 12 to get off two.

 Natrajan bowls full again which Curran dispatches to four. Curran 95 not out.  England 322/9 chasing 330.

A tense finish with Curran getting a single off the last ball abnd India win by 7 runs.
