Although Faf du Plessis scored 36 but was responsible for running out AB de Villiers and David Miller and that proved to be the moment the match went away from South Africa, as South Africa managed to lose eight wickets for 51 runs from 140 for 2 in the 29th over.
Amla took the risk to hit Hardik Pandya for a six, his first boundary in 25 balls, as South Africa were kept down to 52 in 14 overs. De Kock increased the run rate from 3.5 in 10 overs to 4.7 in 20 to 4.83 in 24, as he reached 50 for the sixth time against India, as his previous five had been hundreds.
India’s chase of 193 got off the mark with a suicidal run as Miller missed the stumps for run out and Dhawan batted on. Rohit Sharma’s loose shot early in the innings brought Virat Kohli in the sixth over. After 17 dot balls Kohi brought about a big shot and remained not out at the end.
