Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, led thousands in a mass yoga program day at New Delhi, on the first ever international yoga day, as he did bends, stretches and breathing exercises participated by over 35,000 school children, and politicians.

Modi a young yoga enthusiast, was doing ancient yoga daily, and persuaded UN to declare June 21st as the international yoga day.

Authorities said over 35,000 did yoga for 35 minutes and set a Gunnies World Record for largest yoga class in one location. The event cost 300 million rupees, $4.67m, £2.97. India’s 676 districts 650 are participating and of the 193 UN member countries 192 will be celebrating except Yemen because of conflict there.
