Iran has arrested some of the culprits involved in last month’s assassination of the country’s most senior nuclear scientist Moshen Fakhrizadeh, according to an Iranian Parliamentary adviser. The official who alleged that Israel carried out the assassination with assistance from the US, declined to provide any further details on the detentions.

Hossein Amir Abdolahin told Al- Alam TV he was unable to share the details for security reasons, but that the perpetrators would not escape the full justice.

He also said there was evidence proving Israeli involvement, which was neither confirmed nor denied responsibility by Israel.

The senior nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed near Tehran on 27 November, by a remote-controlled machine gun fired 13 bullets at him, when he was travelling in a convoy through the town of Absard. On the day of the attack, the defence ministry said there was a gunfight between Fakhizadeh’s bodyguards and several gunmen. An Iranian report also cited witnesses as saying that “ three to four” Assailants had been killed.
