ISRO’s PSLv-C49/EOS-01 launch successful
ISRO on Saturday launched EOS-1 , an earth observation satellite, and nine other satellites of international customers onboard the carrier vehicle PSLV-C launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The EOS-01 will be providing agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.
The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle is an medium-lift launch vehicle designed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation.
PSLV-C49 lifted off after 15 minutes and 20 seconds, EOS-01 was successfully injected into its orbit, subsequently nine commercial satellites were also injected into their intended orbits. After separation , the two solar arrays of EOS-1 were deployed automatically and the I~SRO Telemetry tracking and Command Network at Bengaluru assumed control of the satellite.
