A pilot was caught after a flight with a large bag of marijuana in his pocket and also failing a drugs test who worked in one of the companies associated with the Kazakstan Airlines company.  The Air Astana captain had recently touched down in the  A320 from Moscow to Almaty – the former soviet republic’s biggest city and was caught by a sniffer dog which located the drugs during a routine procedure at the airport. Police then discovered he was carrying a packet of the drug and when tested his blood showed a positive result for marijuana use.

Air Astana is partly owned by the British BAE systems company, and confirmed the pilot was fired immediately.
