kevin

\Thirty four year old South African born batsman, Pietersen unleashed his favourite shots and hit 24 fours and 2 sixes in his 170 off 149 balls before being caught at mid wicket, for Surrey against Oxford MCCU. He has decided to focus on winning his 105th Test cap rather than the lucrative IPL contract.

He rejoined surrey in March to regain his England place in time for the Ashes rematch in July 2015, after England and Wales Board Chairman Colin Greaves gave him a hope of recall. His last Ashes test match was in August 2013. Discarded by England after the 5-0 series defeat against Australia, he has played almost exclusively for Twenty20 and IPL.

He was captain of the England Test and ODI teams from 4 August 2008 to 7 January 2009 but resigned after just three Tests and nine ODIs, following a dispute with England coach Peter Moores, who was sacked the same day.

Pietersen has scored 8, 181 runs in 104 tests at an average of 47.28, and has a highest score of 227 with 23 centuries. He is also England’s leading run-scorer across all formats, having scored 4,440 runs in 136 one-day international and 1, 176 runs in 37 Twenty20s. He has won four Ashes series and was player of the tournament in England’s World Twenty20 Triumph in 2010.
