Lentil prices shoot up in India
Canadian deluges damaged the lentil crops in Canada, as stockpiles in Canada, the world’s biggest exporter, are down by half from year earlier. Shipments to India, are all time high as a dry spell reduced the domestic output. Record rainfall last year in Saskatchewan reduced the lentils output by more than 15 per cent according to the Agriculture and Ari-Food Canada.
According to the Gujarat revised Kharif pulses advance estimate, pulses kharif production is estimated to be around 347 thousand tonnes which is around 7 per cent lower than previous estimate of 374 thousand tonnes.
At Mumbai market, Moong Kenya (raw) is offered at £ 78.29 Rs 7, 900 per quintal. Masoor Canadian is trading weak at £54.51 Rs 5, 550 per quintal lower by 0.89 per cent from previous trading day.
