Lewis Hamilton wins the British Grandprix at Silverstone in front of 140,000 crowd. Mclaren team mate Fernando Alanso  swerved to avoid the Lotus cars that had clashed in the first corner, the Spaniard lost his control and speared into Jensen Button. The damage was critical  as the safety car was brought in and Jensen Button was forced to retire.
