India wins Olympic Bronze medal in Hockey
India’s won the men’s hockey Olympics medal after 41 years defeating Germany 5-4 after Germany took an early lead with Timur Oruz scoring within two minutes of the match. But in the second quatter Simranjeet Singh scored from a well-executed Tomahawk shot, Germany scored two more goals within two minutes as India looked in too much trouble. But two penalty corners for India yielded results as Hardik Singh scored on the rebound from the first one, while Harmanpreet Singh socre another with superb dragflick on to the back of the nets. Rupinder Pal Singh and Simranjeet Singh scored two more goals in third quarter while Lukaws Windfeder pulled on back in the final quarter.
