Marylin Monroe

Marilyn Glamour Ambassador for 2015

Marilynm1wearestarsMarolyneYes we do mean Marilyn Monroe!  Max Factor has named her – this non-fictional Goddess –  as its official 2015 Glamour Ambassador!  The company turned her from a pretty brunette to a blonde sex symbol and how Marilyn worked and worked,  making films and appearances, singing Happy Birthday for the president of the USA and dedicating her whole life to entertainment and pleasing her fans.  In her day, film studios would sign up actors for a number of films and they mainly weren’t allowed to leave or make films for other companies until they finished their contracts.  Their wages were much less than big Hollywood stars can expect today and they did not really have the protection and supervision that top actors receive now either.  Marilyn was a spellbinding beauty with a creamy sugar-sweet voice and a kittenish teasing way, flirting with the camera and her audience at all times and enchanting millions with her roles.  She always made her male leads seem macho,   masculine and wise, playing up to them and defying anyone to ever call her anything other than the most feminine icon who has ever lived in the public eye in all honesty.  Interestingly,  though,  despite feminism, and women increasingly demanding equality and much more interaction domestically and otherwise – in the workplace – with men, Monroe still remains a role model and above all an example of beauty, deportment, and grace still influencing millions of ladies and young women the world over, and making men swoon.

Her films sell for less in DVD outlets than some movies, due to being dated,  and yet if you trawl through them, you are bound to find gems – like “Let’s Make Love” “How to Mary a Millionaire” and “Some Like it Hot” – very funny films  and harmless entertainment for all the family.  Marilyn appeared in 29 made films and was making another when she died. Her career as an actress spanned 16 years and she had 3 husbands and apparently no children.  In 1999 Monroe was ranked as the sixth-greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute

It will be interesting to see if Max Factor give eager readers and customers some tips on hair, make up and style which they gave to Marilyn Monroe so many years ago.  One more comment – the most beautiful woman in the world has recently been named as Angelina Jolie so no-one needs to book an appointment to become a blonde or stock up on bleach.  All women are beautiful in their own way but make up definitely helps beauty along to perfect impressions.
