Dozens of Marks and Spencers stores are due to close down as Steve Rowe who has replaced Marc Bolland is involved in closing shops in France, China and the UK. There are 914 stores in the UK of which 302 sell both clothes and food.  Some sites will close, some will stock more food and less clothes.  In France the Champs Elysee store will close in Paris.  Rowe’s legacy had been international expansion.  Recently Rowe told The Sunday Times newspaper, “we have all ben disappointed with the performance of clothing and home” after analytical forecasts said there would be a slump in sales including fashion for the most recent quarter. Rowe had added he was “impatient for change and was “not going to tolerate any flab”.
