Miss World 2017 won by Indian Manushi Chhillar
Twenty-year-old medical student Maanushi Chhillar from Haryana, India has won the Miss World competition for 2017 at a grand event in Sanya, China. The last Miss World from India was Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
She edged out top pageant contestants from England, Kenya, France and Mexico. Chhillar was presented the coveted crown by Stephanie Del Valle, last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico on Saturday November 18, 2017.
Maanushi Chillar said ” I am so happy that I have done my nation proud and I am very excited to begin a new journey!! Thank you everyone for all the wishes, means the world to me”.
Andrea Meze of Mexico was adjusted the First runner-up and Stephanie Hill from England, the 2nd runner-up.
Designer Rocky Star guided and groomed her transform into an amazing woman and beauty queen. According to Rocky Star “Maanushi has really worked upon herself over the past couple of months to upstage her personality enough to win the World title”.
There were 118 contestants.
The Miss World Organisations (MWO) Beauty with a purpose program helps the contestants raise fund for their chosen beneficiary, which was won by Laura Lehmann along with the contestants from South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam and India.
