Eoin Morgan his 94 sixes in ODIs for England, the most by any player from England in ODIs surpassing Andrew Flintoff’s 93. England succeeded in the third highest run chase in history. Maxwell’s 2 excellent  catches and although he was dropped at 6 and 35, top scored 85 off 64, 10 fours and 2 sixes  and Wades breezy 50 all went in vain.

England Skipper Eion Morgan hit a run-a-ball 92 at Headingly, with James Taylor  41 off 42 balls and Ben Stokes 41 off 54.  Morgan cleverly mastered the run chase with his eighth score of 50 or more in 9 innings. Some big hitting by Liam Plunkett , Willey and Moeen Ali saw England home with 10 balls to spare. David Willey had earlier reduced Australia to 30-3 with the new balls before they recovered  and posted 299-7.
