Seventh century’s traditional and famous Murano glass from the Venetian island is world beater located off the shore of Venice, Italy, the lagoon city’s historic and artistic glass factory connecting the historic buildings.

Italian artisans are keen to avoid mass-produced generic but produce premium handmade, painstakingly rendered, authentic to get a sense of real enduring Italy, crafted with soul. The ceramicist in the workshop or glass blower by his furnace, create history.

Venice’s glass masters or maestri Vetrai, a title once equivalent to nobility in the City of Water from the tiny Venetian island of Murano – where the city’s wood-fired glass factories were relocated in 1291 to avoid risk of fire in Venice itself .

Originally, Venice was dominated by the Byzantine Empire and eventually it became an independent city state, as trading flourished from the seaport with connection with Middle East helped its glassmakers to gain additional skills as glass making was more advanced in Egypt and Syria. Since glass factories often caught fire, Venetian glassmakers developed secret recipes and methods of making glass and some fire resistance up to half hour.

the legendary Murano glass-blowing industry began and evolved from  the Murrines, Filigree, Reticelli and blown-glass was developed in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. to the exuberant Baroque, the bries flourishing  of Neo-classicism and nineteenth century revivals.

The New Murano Gallery at the heart of Murano, where handmade chandeliers  created with centuries-old basic tools, etched and ornamented mirrors, vases in varied shapes, colours and sizes creations of original imagination and creativity of the talented glass masters.
