Austria reached the knockout stages of Euro 2020 for the first time with a deserved win over Ukaine and meet Italy in the last-16 tie.

Franco Foda’s side produced a bold display in Bucharest and Crhistoph Baumgartner’s close-range goal  proved enough to earn them a Wembley meeting with Italians on Saturday.

Mario Arnatovic pushed a shot wide with the goal at eh critical moments before half time as Austria served up 13 shots on goal before the break,  a tally only bettered by Italy’s 14 against Turkey.

Ukraine however, struggled to find any fluidity in their play, as the only threat came from Mykola Shaparenko forced a routine driving save from Austrian keeper Daniel Bachmann in the first half.
