New Year 2021

The firework display over London included tributes to NHS staff and figures including Captain Sir Tom Moore  who raised £33m for the NHS by walking laps of his garden, amid 78 per cent of the UK population in tier four coronavirus lockdown.

The light projections lit up the sky over the O2 Arena, including the NHS logo in a heart accompanied by a child’s voice saying “Thank you NHS heroes”.

2021 – a new decade – this is of it what my thoughts are made! By the way, before I go any further there is debate on when the new decade starts or started so my advice is to……yes you guessed correctly….google it!

2020 fade fade fade fade fades out

As 2021 arrives  “Hopefully Happy New Year!” we shout

We’ve so much to be grateful for or really have we nowt?

When so much of the news is bad and sad

And makes us go “Oh no! Wow! Ow!” and gets us mad

Well – what are we supposed to think

When politics Covid and the media have created this big stink?

If I handwrote my views on the subject I would run out of ink

Worldwide we hope for a Happy 2021

Well 21 does rhyme well with fun!

So instead of getting your gun

Go for a walk or run

And wait for the sun

To come out in all its glory

And hope and pray our 2021 will prove a good and different story!

That way we will have won!
