Novak beats Roger to win Wimbledon Singles final

Top seeded Novak Djokovic 28 year old Serb, was simply at his best, to beat   seven times Champion Swiss Roger Federer (33) and claimed his third Wimbledon title in four sets 7-6, (7-1), 6-7 (10-12), 6-4, 6-3 to overtake the likes of Andre Agassi, Ivan Lendl, Jimmy Connors in the all times list of major winners. The Serb took 2 hours and 56 minutes to win the title, and added to his three All England Club, one US open, five Australian Open, and so far won 48 matches and lost only three in 2015.

Federer said “ I had my chances in the opening set, I was lucky to win the second set, and had more chances in the third which I could not consolidate. But he was better on the bigger points, he was rock solid and I did not play badly myself, that is how it goes”. The Serb’s most recent defeat came in the French Open finals to Stan Warwrinka five weeks ago.
