Café-isation of chai has began, as Chai Point, started in 2010 by Harvard alumnus Amuleek Singh Bijral in Bengaluru in India was the first of these Chai startups (Tea) with over a hundred outlets pan-India and serves over 100, 000 cups every day. Chaayos has grown from 7 cafes in 2015, to 40cafes in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh after it received $5 million funding from Tiger Global.

In Delhi, Ragahv Verma was studying engineering at IIT portals in Delhi, Sassi was the only go-to place for chai with parathas fuelling long hours of study. Now, five years on, he founded Chaayos, one of India’s most successful and rapidly growing tea startups.
