Padmasree Warrior joins NextEV
Padmasree Warrior 55, born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh ( India), the former technology and strategy officer at Cisco systems, is the new CEO and global chief development officer at NextEV, a Chinese startup that’s building an electric car to compete with Tesla. Warrior, who spent her entire career with Motorola semiconductor plant, for 23 years and Cisco for the past seven, had contemplated starting her own ed-tech company, or taking a CEO role at an Internet company, was snapped up by William Li, a founder, and chairman of NextEV, and founder of Internet auto giant Bitauto.com, headquartered in Shanghai.
Padmasree, after growing up in southern India and getting her B.S> in chemical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, she moved to the U.S. at the age of 22 to study her masters at Cornell. She has over 1.63 million followers in Twitter.
