Over half a million people are expected to be filing past the Queen’s coffin after it was brought in a procession to Westminster Hall, followed by the King and his sons Princes William and Harry who walked behind Queen Elizabeth’s coffin as Her Majesty makes her way to Westminster Hall, leaving Buckingham Palace for the final time. Camilla, the Queen Consort, and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, travelled by car, as will Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

The Queen will lie in state at Westminster Hall until Monday morning.

The Queen’s funeral on Monday is set to be one of the biggest gatherings of royalty and politicians hosted in the UK for decades, with over 500 heads of state and foreign dignitaries expected to attend. The ceremony at Westminster Abbey has a capacity of around 2, 200 people. Members of royal families from across Europe, many of whom were blood relatives of the Queen, are expected, including Belgium’s King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife, Queen Maxima, along with his mother, former Dutch queen Princes Beatrix, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, royal families of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Monaco, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, leaders from across the Commonwealth of which the Queen served as head for the entirety of her reign, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, New Zealand Prime Minister

Jacinda Ardern, Irish Taoiseach Micheal Martin, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian President Sergio Mattarella, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, Brazilain President Jair Bolsonaro, Japanese Emperor Naruhito, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe are also expected.

 Among those, not invited are Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarus, Myanmar, representatives from Syria, Venezuela, and Afghanistan.
