Ranjit Boparan (49)  an Indian-origin food tycoon and restaurateur acquires, the much loved casual dining,  54 Giraffe restaurant chain including 12 franchise sites and three within Tesco stores, from Tesco. Tesco acquired Giraffe in 2013 for £49m. Ranjit will add to his Boparan Holdings alongside,t The Cinnamon Club, an upmarket Indian Restaurant in London.  Ranjit nicknamed “Chicken King”, is supplying food to the big supermarket through 2 sisters Food company.

The self-made millionaire,  who had humble beginnings, Ranjit from Sutton Coldfield, in West Midlands, who started out as Wolverhampton butcher’s  assistant at the age of 16, before founding 2 sisters his food manufacturing company, is listed on “The Sunday Times Rich List” with an estimated fortune of £430m, stands at No 267, and now said to be worth £850m. He also owns Harry Ramsden’s fish ‘n’ chip restaurants and Northern Foods the company behind Goodfella’s pizza and Fox’s biscuits.
