Rio Transport expansion project

Department of Transportation and  Rio Trilhos , a rail operators group  called Plano director Metroviario (PDM) has launched new expansions to the metro subway as well as its integration multi-form of transport systems like VLT and BRT bus systems by 2045.

The Secretary of Transportation, Carlos Roberto Osorio, said specialists will be working alongside engineers and side technicians from Rio Trilhos. They have proposed expansion of the existing Line 2 for the stretch of Estacio-Carioca- Parca XV and the implementation of Line 3 in the cities of Niteroi and Sao Goncalo. The state has hired Brazilian subway specialists to develop the planned growth of the network and the integration with other high-capacity transport modes in Rio and the Metropolitan region.
