Rodirgo Duterte, Donald Trump of the East is the next Philippines president

Rodrigo Duterte, dubbed as Donald Trump of the East,  the longtime mayor of southern City of Davao, nicknamed “Dirty Harry” last night won the landslide victory in the Presidential elections in the Philippines. His popular policies, pledges and outlandish campaign style including stunning his audiences by cursing the Pope and making shocking remarks about killing criminals, challenge the elite’s grip on the economy and the rape of an Australian missionary in Davao.  His popularity signalled a transformation for further changes despite economic improvements in the last six years under outgoing president Benigur Aquino.
