International Test Match Series England Vs India at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

England 263-3 off 89.3ov Root 128 off 197, 14 fours, 1 six, Sibley 87 off 286, 12 fours, Burmrah 2-40,  R Ashwin 1-68.

England won the toss and decided to bat.

The England Skipper Root was unbeaten on 128 at stumps although Dom Sibley was dismissed in the final over o the day to end a stand of 200 as England are 263-3

With Jos Buttler being rested for three of the four matches, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are back to spearhead England’s Test Series against India beginning at Chennai.

Root drives Sundar down the ground, but a fine diving stop gets him only one run to 99.  Root flicks to leg to reach a hundred in his hundredth Test, his third in three Tests this year, with Sibley 85 not out.
