Mr Furlong;s thighs, abdomen, groin and even genitals were hurt when the hot drink fell into his lap When being passed over to another passenger , and was forced to tear off his trousers in the aisle in front of other passengers and was then forced to sit on an emergency seat with a dressing applied to the scaled parts of his body.

Mr Furlong said “the airline had failed to ensure that staff transferred the hot drink safely without causing injuries and my domestic, social and recreational lifestyle had been interfered with”.

Although Ryan has prepared a defence and were ready to claim that they were not responsible and that it was the passenger’s fault as he had been careless just before spilling the drink himself. But his barrister told a hearing this week that the airline had agreed to settle, believed to be up to €38,000 euros £28,000 according to Irish Times.
