Australia won by 64 runs and lead 2-0 in the 5-match series.

Steve Smith struck 70 off 87 balls with 7 fours and Mitchell Marsh 64 from 31 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes as Australia made 309 -7 from their 49 overs.. England Skipper Eoin Morgan’s 85 including 4 fours and 4 sixes was in vain, as England were all out for 245 to lose by 64 runs.

In the 26th over, England all rounder Ben Stokes pushed a defensive shot back to the bowler Mitchell Starc who hurled the ball towards the stumps as the batsman left his crease and turned away and dived back in attempt to regain his ground but accidently stopped the ball with his outstretched left hand and was given out under Law 37, for willfully obstructing the field, was only the sixth dismissal for obstructing the field in the 3, 861- match history of one-day internationals and the first of an England player.
