Family of Late Alan, a senior probation officer and Pat Firth, a secretary, was unaware that their home contained 350-piece collection of ceramics, and could be one of most important collections of pottery in the world. The discovery which was sold for almost 1million at auction. Jason Wood of Adam Partridge auctioneers, was asked to view the pottery t a three bedroom bungalow in Temple Newsam, outskirts of Leeds, by friends of Firths who were camping outside the house to safeguard its contents since Alan Firth’s death. Jason was amazed to find most of the pieces were intact as they were piled up throughout the house and some pieces were in the attic and more stored in the garage. The contents in the house was more than 10 times the value of the house.

Mrs Firth died in 2012 and Mr Firth in April this year aged 80 without leaving a will.
